Miller Receives "Friend of Dakota BUSINESS Finance" award
Dakota BUSINESS Finance held its annual awards ceremony and reception on October 15, 2014. Dakota BUSINESS Finance annually presents a “Friend of Dakota BUSINESS Finance” award. This year it was presented to Woods Fuller attorney, Carey Miller. Criteria used in selecting the award recipient include the number of referrals made to Dakota BUSINESS Finance and marketing efforts to promote the program. The leads generated through Carey’s partnership resulted in Dakota BUSINESS Finance being able to assist Wings Gymnastics Academy with funding in 2014.
Carey’s practice focuses on business, real estate and intellectual property law. She helps clients form business entities, raise capital, negotiate contracts and identify intellectual property rights. Carey has assisted clients with numerous commercial real estate transactions including acquisitions, sales, 1031 exchanges, leases, development, construction and condominiums. Her skills include real estate secured lending, Article 9 secured transactions and opinions for financing transactions.
Carey is active within the South Dakota State Bar Business Law Committee and as a director of the South Dakota Historical Society Foundation. She previously served on the Board of Directors for the South Eastern Development Foundation. Carey is involved in economic development efforts and speaks on business formation and intellectual property rights to entrepreneurs and startups.
